When using the hook to hold the killbar open, take care not to knock the handle upwards (you'd have to give it a good whack to dislodge the hook so its unlikely but just be aware)

It can take a few tries using the tool to get the hang of it so be patient!

If the arm of the trap swings back towards the back wall of the trap without catching on the sear, lower the kill bar carefully and start again. (just as you would if setting the trap by hand and the mechanism misbehaves)
